About us
On behalf of the Management Board, faculties and staffs, it is a great pleasure for me to invite you to be a part of our academic community.
Founded in 1961, the BAV is a public university regulated by the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET). It is headquartered in Hanoi with two campuses in the provinces of Bac Ninh and Phu Yen. The BAV’s rise to a leading financial- banking university in Vietnam over its 55 years of existence has been the result of many factors: the contributions of talented and dedicated faculty; the energy, enthusiasm and inventiveness of graduate and undergraduate students; the dedication and support of excellent staff; the passion of our alumni to make a difference in the world; and the support and active engagement of our partners from all sectors of society. With nearly 600 lecturers and about 20000 students studying at different levels including undergraduate and postgraduate, the BAV is an applied- interdisciplinary university offering six majors: banking and finance, accounting, international business, business administration, management information system and foreign language. The BAV aims to maintain an atmosphere that promotes the highest educational standards as well as encouraging passion and motivation within its students. Each faculty at the BAV offers an array of lecture courses, and training seminars in both general education and specialized subjects. This ensures that upon graduation the students are prepared to function in their fields of expertise and contribute to society. Our students have a chance to study, work and play in a vibrant international setting. In recent years, the BAV has attracted a recorded number of international professors and students through a number of joint programs with top overseas universities, giving our students experiences with different cultures. Our students are benefit from smaller class sizes, highly interactive study style, and close relationship with lecturers. Moreover, the nature of BAV promotes activeness and creativeness in students when organizing events, clubs, societies and sports activities for all students. All of those enriching campus life and international exposure provide our students great competence to work in fast-changing and integrated global workplace in the future. Our students are provided with the career-oriented curriculum, practical skills, and “real world” opportunities necessary to advance as leaders in their professions and their communities. With the support from many strategic partners, we also offer students internships in different departments in banks and financial institutions. We are pleased that employers think highly of the BAV graduates and each graduating class has enjoyed high employment, with fresh graduates getting multiple job offers, being offered jobs while on internships and some even becoming entrepreneurs and creating jobs for others. In recent years, the BAV has made impressive improvement in scientific researching activities, as well as extended cooperation with many prestigious domestic and international academic institutions. Understanding that talented researchers make the best educators, the university encourages research, and supports its faculty, undergraduate and graduate students in their participation in researching activities both in Vietnam and abroad. In a result, the number of scientific research has been increasing through years, illustrated through the number of scientific articles, domestic and international workshops and conferences.
